Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct renal-related in vitro, ex vivo, and animal research experiments.
  • Support studies in kidney injury, organ preservation, transplant biology, cardiovascular health, and metabolic disease.
  • Develop protocols, maintain high-quality lab records, analyze experimental data, and prepare technical summaries.
  • Contribute to NIH Phase I grant applications, manuscripts, posters, and scientific presentations.
  • Collaborate with academic and clinical advisors to move early discoveries toward reproducible preclinical evidence.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, or equivalent research training in physiology, pharmacology, nephrology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with renal, cardiovascular, transplant, metabolic, or related biomedical research models.
  • Ability to independently conduct experiments, troubleshoot methods, analyze results, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Publication record in SCI-indexed journals.
  • Strong attention to reproducibility, research integrity, and early-stage translational development.

Chief Operating Officer

Early-stage biotech operations, grants, partnerships, and execution

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage company operating systems for an early-stage biomedical venture.
  • Coordinate grant timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, documentation, and milestone tracking.
  • Support business planning, investor or partner materials, intellectual property coordination, and compliance workflows.
  • Develop hiring, contracting, finance, and project-management processes as the company grows.
  • Work closely with the CEO and scientific leadership to translate research goals into executable operating plans.

Requirements

  • Experience in biotech, medical technology, academic commercialization, startup operations, or grant-funded research organizations.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, vendor management, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Familiarity with NIH small-business grants, research administration, or regulated life-science development is preferred.
  • Ability to operate in a lean, fast-moving environment with limited structure.
  • High integrity, strong ownership, and comfort working across science, finance, legal, and business functions.

Clinical Translation

Chief Clinical Trial Officer

Clinical strategy, translational planning, and future first-in-human readiness

Responsibilities

  • Develop clinical translation strategy for early-stage device and therapeutic programs.
  • Advise on preclinical packages needed to support future first-in-human planning.
  • Define target patient populations, clinical endpoints, safety considerations, and early trial concepts.
  • Support regulatory planning, clinical protocol concepts, CRO evaluation, and investigator relationship development.
  • Collaborate with scientific leadership to align experimental work with eventual clinical evidence needs.

Requirements

  • MD, MD/PhD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent clinical development experience.
  • Experience designing or leading clinical trials in renal, cardiovascular, metabolic, transplant, medical device, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Working knowledge of FDA-regulated clinical development, GCP, protocol design, safety monitoring, and endpoint selection.
  • Ability to translate early preclinical findings into practical clinical-development questions.
  • Experience with early-stage biotech, investigator-initiated trials, or grant-funded clinical translation is preferred.
